At the Eye foundation we have all facilities to perform diagnostic tests of the cornea including an ORBSCAN to assess the corneal topography, a pachymeter to measure corneal thickness and a specular microscope to assess the health of the corneal endothelium.

We perform the entire array of corneal and ocular surface reconstruction surgeries; namely, corneal transplant surgeries (penetrating and lamellar keratoplasties), pterygium excision with a conjunctival grafts , Amniotic membrane transplant and limbal stem cell transplants are also done in patients after severe chemical injuries- (limbal stem cell deficiencies) .

Keratoconus management options

Keratoconus is progressive degeneration of the cornea that can be treated in the early stages with rigid contact lenses, but in the late stages requires surgical replacement of the cornea from a donor called Keratoplasty. We offer all these options in the treatment of keratoconus at our hospital.

Recent times have seen the development of a procedure called Corneal Collagen Cross Linking with Riboflavin (C3R), a procedure proven worldwide to strengthen the cornea by improving the rigidity-hence arresting the progression of keratoconus. We offer this very latest technology in the management of keratoconus at our hospital. This is a simple, painless outpatient procedure that merely involves instillation of riboflavin eye drops in your eye followed by treatment of your cornea with UV rays.

We provide the entire workup and treatment of dry eye syndrome in our cornea clinic. We also have an in house eye bank at both Coimbatore and Tirupur.
