Clinical Exposure:

  • Confident in performing phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery including complicated cases such as rigid pupils, posterior polar cataracts, use of iris hooks, anterior vitrectomy and managing other complications under local anesthesia. Confident in using premium IOLs such as toric and multifocal IOLs.
  • Performed 500+ small incision cataract surgeries, 1200+ phacoemulsification surgeries, 250+ pterygium surgeries, 5 dacryocystectomies, 20 dacryocystorhinostomy surgeries independently.
  • Performed 15+ lens aspiration with anterior vitrectomy and IOL placement in children less than 5 years age and 15+ cases in older children and 5 lensectomies in children less than 8 months old.
  • Confident in performing horizontal and inferior oblique muscle surgeries independently. Assisted posterior tenotomy of superior oblique in 2 eyes.
  • Performed 75 pan retinal laser photocoagulations and 2 barrage lasers. Administered 150+ intravitreal injections independently.
  • Performed large numbers of laser procedures such as YAG capsulotomies, laser peripheral iridotomies and selective laser trabeculoplasty independently.
  • ROP screening done under supervision for 25 babies.

  • “A prospective study on ocular trauma- clinical profile, factors affecting visual outcome and correlation with Ocular Trauma Score (OTS)” as dissertation submitted to National Board of Examinations in 2018.
  • Presented the same as poster in Ocular Traumacon organized by Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai-2018. Presented paper titled “A prospective analysis of the efficacy of SLT in patients with open angle glaucoma” at Glaucoma Society of India annual conference 2018 at Kovalam. (as co-author).
