Risk factors assosciated with its development includes alcoholism, hypertension, duration of diabetes mellitus, duration of treatment of diabetes mellitus and long term glycemic control.

Initial outcomes of needle guided abinterno sulcus placement of Aurolab ?ueous Drainage Implant (AADI) - Aravind Eye Hospital and Post Graduate Institute, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu (Retrospective study) - Dr. Ramakrishnan, Advisor, Glaucoma Services, AEH Dr Mohideen Abdul Kader, HOD, Glaucoma Services, AEH; Dr. Devendra Maheswari, Consultant, Glaucoma Services, AEH; IOP was reduced from a pre-operative mean (SD)of 33.57(10.5)mmHg to 10.21(4.0) mmHg at 6 months . Mean(SD) number of preoperative AGM was reduced from 2.93(0.6) to 0.43(0.8) medications.
