Cataract, a leading cause of visual loss in the elderly, can be treated by a simple surgical procedure. However, lack of awareness and economic constraints prevent a vast majority of the population from receiving adequate care. If left untreated, an advanced cataract can lead to permanent visual loss. Glaucoma or problems related to high pressure inside the eye is another common cause of blindness.
To address this and myriad other eye related problems, Rajalakshmi Nethralaya, the charitable wing of The Eye Foundation was established in 2003 with the vision of providing quality eye care to the needy section of the society free of cost or at heavily subsidized cost.

The hospital atmosphere is very good. All staffs are very cooperative. Dr.Praveen Murali is a down to earth person. When we are came in the hospital, we are totally confused and tensed. But we met the doctor, got good suggestions and cleared mind.

Definitely a five star specialist eye hospital in Kochi. Located too close to Changampuzha Metro station, this hospital has all eye treatments available. Many doctors are available; specialist doctors are really experts in their area. Doctors, nurses and other staffs are very much cooperative. The area is also maintained clean. Also to mention their waiting period. I have got literally no waiting time at all.
