The diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy on end stages in a patient sets a devastating tone to him/ her and to their family as it is a blinding disease if not detected and treated at early stages. People should be aware of methods for early detection of diabetic retinopathy, which translates into early treatment and a better quality of life for the patient with good vision. She particularly emphasizes early detection of diabetic retinopathy by spreading awareness. Her areas of interest include surgeries such as complicated rhegmatogenous and diabetic tractional retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membrane, and scleral-fixated IOLs. She has a special interest in macular disorders and retinal imaging.
