The Eye Foundation proudly inaugurated its 25th signature centre in Vadapalani, Chennai on 6th July 2025, marking a remarkable milestone in its journey of delivering world-class eye care. As part of this grand opening, the centre introduced the revolutionary SILK (Smooth Incision Lenticule Extraction) technology, a next-generation refractive laser eye surgery designed to correct vision problems like nearsightedness (myopia) and astigmatism. With the launch of SILK, The Eye Foundation continues to lead in technological innovation, bringing minimally invasive, bladeless solutions to patients seeking precise and comfortable vision correction.
The Vadapalani branch was inaugurated by Shri. Ma. Subramanian, Honourable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. The occasion was further graced by the august presence of Padma Bhushan Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti Avl, Chairman, Nalli Silks; Dr. Partha Biswas, President, All India Ophthalmological Society; and renowned musician and Carnatic vocalist Dr. Nityasree Mahadevan.
