Dr. Mary Ann Mathew completed her MBBS from Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur, and pursued her Diploma in Ophthalmology at Chaithanya Eye Hospital and Research Institute, Thiruvalla.
She is currently working as a Junior Resident at Chaithanya Eye Hospital and Research Institute, where she is actively involved in comprehensive eye examinations, outpatient and inpatient care, cataract and pterygium surgeries, and postoperative management. She has also served as a Contract Medical Officer under NHM at various health centers across Kerala.
Her clinical expertise includes diagnosis and management of glaucoma, retinal disorders, diabetic retinopathy, neuro-ophthalmology conditions, and minor surgical procedures such as chalazion removal and pterygium surgery. She has hands-on experience in advanced ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic tools.
Dr. Mary Ann has participated in eye camps and community outreach programs, providing free eye checkups and cataract surgeries for underprivileged patients. She has also presented at state-level conferences, including KSOS (DRISHTI 2023), on the topic “Optimal Timing of Epiretinal Membrane Surgery Maximizes Visual Preservation.”
Her areas of interest include glaucoma, medical retina, and neuro-ophthalmology.
