My clinical focus sits at the overlap of glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology—two areas involving the optic nerve that are often managed by different specialists. I completed my postgraduate ophthalmology training at Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur, where I gained significant exposure to cataract surgery, followed by a fellowship in phacoemulsification at the same institution. I then trained in glaucoma at Narayana Nethralaya and in neuro-ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, and further strengthened my neuro-ophthalmology training through a subspecialty observership at the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan, awarded on an International Ophthalmology Fellowship Foundation (IOFF) grant. Day to day, I manage glaucoma both medically and surgically, evaluate optic nerve disorders and neurological causes of vision loss, and perform cataract surgery by phacoemulsification and small-incision technique. I consult in English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil, and keep an active interest in clinical research.
