Dr. Deepa George completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Kottayam, and MS in Ophthalmology from Government Medical College, Thrissur. She has also completed the DNB Ophthalmology examination.

She has worked as Junior Resident and Senior Resident Medical Officer in Ophthalmology at Government Medical College, Thrissur, and currently serves as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at a private eye hospital in Thrissur.

Her areas of expertise include:General Ophthalmology and casualty management,Glaucoma diagnosis and management (medical and laser),Retinal diseases including PRP laser, ROP screening, intravitreal injections,Corneal disorders, wound suturing, and refraction,Cataract surgery (SICS with Rigid IOL),Minor surgical procedures such as DCT, pterygium surgery, and shave excision,Advanced diagnostic techniques such as OCT, Topography, USG B-scan, and HFA.

She has over 4 years of experience in teaching undergraduate students and ophthalmic assistants.
Her research focused on the “Prevalence of ocular problems in children with cerebral palsy.” She has presented papers at state-level conferences including the annual Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons meet (DRISHTI 2019). She is known for her dedication, compassionate approach, and commitment to patient care.
